Lady of Bullyburg

(Best for Grades Pre-K – 5)

Celebrating its ninth season on the road! Audiences across America credit this anti-bullying fairy tale with changing the climate in their schools. Join Lady Kindness as she saves her town from a visiting bully. With help from the audience and a friendly merchant, she discovers the strength to stand up to the bully, learning a variety of empowering tools along the way. The perfect kick-off to your school year! Don’t forget, this show also has a bilingual option!

Jack's Adventure in American History -Bright Star Touring Theatre

Jack’s Adventure in American History

(Best for Grades 2 – 5)

Join Jack as he crams for his upcoming test. When his history book magically explodes, Jack meets some of the most exciting people in our nation’s history! George Washington, Betsy Ross, Henry Ford and Neil Armstrong are just some of the 22 characters that come to life in this high energy adventure. Audience volunteers help write the Constitution, work on Ford’s assembly line and even demand the right to vote!

Romeo & Juliet

(Best for Grades 6 – Adult)

In 45 minutes, our two talented actors tackle one of the most beloved stories in the English language. We’ve condensed the Bard’s original text into an accessible and inventive production. The two star-crossed lovers, the Nurse, Mercutio, Benvolio, the Prince, the warring families…take this vibrant work of literature off the page and onto the stage, just as it was intended!

Tour 2: September 10 - November 3, 2012

Maximus Mars

(Best for Grades 3 – 8 )

Returning from it’s sold out run last season, comes this anti-bullying show for older students offering empowering tools to help combat cyber and school yard bullying. Maximus Mars has crash landed on a foreign planet and must work to stop the bullying residents from destroying his ship. When he begins receiving bullying messages on his communication device, he turns to the audience for help to effectively put an end to their cyber-bullying while working hard to return to earth. Our steam-punk themed show was a runaway smash last season!

Sadie’s Spectacular Saturday

(Best for Grades Pre-K – 5)

Sadie the caterpillar has ‘turned over a new leaf’ by starting classes at a brand new school. Alas, a bullying cockroach is working to ensure none of the bugs befriend her. Determined not to be made fun of, she meets a very different ladybug and learns that true beauty comes from within! When she becomes a butterfly, Sadie realizes that she has transformed more than just herself! This anti-bullying bug-filled adventure teaches good judgment, kindness, friendship and respect!

Tour 3: September 24 - November 3, 2012

Bluegrass & Tall Tales

(Best for Grades Pre-K – 5)

We’ve combined two of our favorite things: Great American literature with some toe-tapping bluegrass interludes! Join our musical actors as they bring to life some of the best American Tall Tales in this upbeat production. The stories of Daniel Boone, Johnny Appleseed, and Paul Bunyun to name a few, while interspersing these tales with some old fashioned southern style bluegrass music.

Soundtrack to Freedom

( Best for Grades 3 – 8 )

Celebrate American History through a timeline of music! Join our professional performers as they carry your audience on a melodic journey through chapters of American History. From tribal songs of the early Native Americans, to influential anthems of The Civil Rights Movement, this show leaves few tunes unturned. Audience interaction abounds with sing-alongs in this original Bright Star Theatre musical concert!

Tour 4: October 1 - November 3, 2012

Once Upon A Time

(Best for Grades Pre-K – 5)

Literature comes to life in this hysterical production bringing to the stage the stories of ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Jack and the Beanstalk!’ Lenny and Mable, the comic duo who made Aesop’s Fables such a roaring success, are determined to reenact these two classic fairy tales, undertaking more than a dozen roles each. From the character formerly known as Prince Charming, to a giant lumbering high above our set–this production is always a favorite of teachers and students alike.

Legend of Sleepy Hollow

(Best for Grades 2 – 6)

The Washington Irving classic comes to life like never before! Bumbling schoolmaster Ichabod Crane is in love with the prettiest girl in town, Katrina Van Tassel, despite the fact she happens to be with the town prankster, Brom Bones! Not to be outdone, Crane continues his pursuit, until one stormy night he finds himself being chased by the legendary headless horseman–or is it just another of Brom Bones’ famous pranks? Your audience will especially love watching several volunteers being pulled up to become members of the Sleepy Hollow town choir in this playful adaption.

A Dickens Tale

( Best for Grades 2 – 8 )

Join our actors as they recreate Victorian England in this beloved retelling of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. Join old Scrooge, bumbling Bob Cratchit, one hilarious beggar woman, and all those delightful ghostly visitors in this heartwarming tale of friendship and generosity. An unsuspecting student will also have the opportunity to join our actors on stage as Tiny Tim! Our classic version has become an annual tradition across America!
