From Anansi to John Henry

A celebration of folktales, tall tales and oral traditions from Black History for your youngest audiences. Taking the role of the trickster, Anansi is one of the most important characters of West African, African American and West Indian Folklore. While John Henry is an American folk hero about the freedman who was said to have worked as a ‘steel-driving man.’ Other tales in the show come to us from the celebrated Gullah Tales and oral traditions that have created a beautiful fabric of memorable characters and valuable lessons.
